We drove an hour to come here and had a good time! The grilled tenderloin was delicious, although could use a little more seasoning. The chicken salad and fruit were also delicious. We got the strawberry shortcake and added hot fudge and cookie dough and we got the clown sundae. We had a good time. Can't wait to try a chocolate sundae next time! So crazy how they have 100 sundaes on their menu!! We love ice cream!

I remember this being a must-have when visiting friends at Ball State, so stopped back in with a buddy for his first time a few weeks ago. On the plus side it was a weekday afternoon and during a college break, so there was no line - a far cry from my memories of standing in line for 25 minutes for a bowl of ice cream in college. I had a chicken sandwich and then later a bowl of ice cream. The sandwich was good - not spectacular, but good. The ice cream was more topping than ice cream, and felt a little underwhelming. There are over 100 options so maybe not all of them are a winner and I made a bad choice. All in all, it was a find experience. I probably over-hyped my college memories (or had lower expectations at the time.) If you're in town, it's absolutely worth the visit. Hands down. But I'm not sure I'd make a special trip of it again.

Food was great and lots of it! We received our food quickly! Saw this restaurant on a Visit Indiana site! Felt like a down home restaurant or a local favorite place! Not many people there when we got there (about 10 minutes after they opened) but was packed when we left!

The tenderloin & taters tots were good. The service was also good. But, the only problem was the ambiance because it was kinda busy and where we were sitting was loud.

Ivanhoe's is an iconic place in the heart of Indiana that is a must try. They are famous for their chicken salad and ice cream desserts. I think the chicken salad maybe the best you will ever have. The strawberry shortcake and ice cream is outstanding as well. On this trip I tried the tenderloin and onion ring & tater tot sides. The tenderloin was nicely breaded and moist. Not such spice favoring. Not really greasy. Just a nice sandwich with all the toppings. The tater tots were okay. Round not cylindrical. Not too greasy and had a good crunch. Kinda thin so not much meat to them. The onion rings were very crunchy and not much spicy taste. They had a thin piece of onion inside. The batter was medium thick and a bit greasy. The lines can be long depending on the day and time you go. The lines seem to move quickly as they are well staffed. The staff is very courteous and friendly.

Glad I stumbled upon this place, heading home to Indy from Ft Wayne. I was just going to get some fast food off I69, but did a quick Yelp search and this sounded interesting! So, it's not a drive in, just a restaurant. Lots of parking. Inside was packed. It wasn't clear for a newbie, but you order food on one side then the crowd was people waiting for their orders. Separate line for just ice cream orders. Also lots of tables to eat in. I saw some strawberry shortcake on tables so I knew that was a go. She asked ice cream or whipped cream? I said how much do they cost and she said 8.75 regardless, so I got both. Also onion rings. I asked the girl at the register what her favorite sandwich was and she didn't hesitate to say southwestern chicken, so that's what I ordered. She said breaded or fried and I said you tell me, and she said fried, so that's what I ordered too, ha. Waited a bit for food (it was crowded) the the youmg guy who filled my order was very nice. Strawberry shortcake is packaged well to travel. I ate out in the parking lot cuz I had my dog in the car. It was a total #yum. The dessert is enough for a few people. My hubs was happy when I got home with leftovers! Chicken sandwich had 2 good size filets in it and a nice sauce. Btw, menu lists literally 100 different milkshakes in print too small for me to read without glasses. Safe to say you can get whatever you can think of! #yum #ReviewsByRL

So unlike me to not get photos. I got the turtle sundae with caramel. It was absolutely the best sundae I've ever had! The hot fudge and caramel where so warm and gooey! The pecans were delicious, too! This is a huge Sunday. It is served in a pint plastic container for to the rim. My friend got a Banana split that was the size of a plate! I seriously cannot get over the sizes and taste of these heavenly treats! Who says you can't have ice cream for lunch? We did! This hidden gem is down the street from Taylor University. It's definitely worth the trip! I typically get the chicken salad with fruit. There is enough fruit to eat on for three days! They are serving sizes are huge! I am not complaining. I hope they do not change their sizes. With over 100 different ice cream flavors, there is something for everyone. Look for the statue of Garfield holding an ice cream cone right before you turn into their driveway. It's a great photo op.
